Those have been checked against a sewer-lateral matrix and nothing else. A city resale report, an energy ordinance or a retrofit rule could exist there and not be in this dataset. They say so on their own page — this is the single biggest gap in the data.

There is no jurisdiction in the nine counties where nothing has been looked at. That is a floor, not a guarantee: partly-checked is still partly.
Absence of a requirement is not a legal opinion
Where this site shows no local requirement, that means none was found in the sources checked. It is not advice that none exists, and it is never a statement that a property complies with anything.
This site cannot tell you which special district serves a parcel
In Marin especially, the requirement belongs to a sanitary or fire district whose boundary ignores city limits — Las Gallinas covers only northern San Rafael; Woodside Fire covers a slice of unincorporated San Mateo. A mailing address does not settle it. Each district record links its own lookup; use it.

Primary means the ordinance, the municipal code or the issuing agency's own page. A record marked verified means a human read one of those on the date shown — not that it is still true today, and not that anybody confirmed it by phone.
3 requirements are unresolved and this dataset does not know the answer
Two sources disagree and neither has been confirmed. Those records say so in terms, carry no fee, and are excluded from every total. They are listed because somebody has to resolve them.
3 fee figures are disputed between sources
Two published sources give different amounts for the same certificate, sometimes by a factor of three. Both are shown, attributed, and neither is averaged into the other. Ask the agency before quoting a number.
15 source links cannot be checked automatically
Some agency sites block automated requests, so their pages cannot be confirmed to still load. That is recorded as unchecked rather than as a tick nobody earned.
The oldest record was last checked 12 days ago
The build refuses to ship any record unverified for more than a year. That is a floor on staleness, not a promise of freshness — an ordinance can change the day after somebody reads it.
If you find something wrong here, that is the most useful thing you can send — a correction is worth more than a feature.
